South Africa's Professor to Perform at Earthdance Nairobi
8:50 PM
earthdance, events
6:AM Entertainment and TURBOCHiLL are happy to announce the 5th annual Earthdance Nairobi charity dance music festival set for 14 September at Ngong Racecourse. This year we are bringing in South African Afrohouse / Kwaito sensation Professor for a live act! This will not be a DJ set but a live stage performance from the Professor and his crew from South Africa. Alongside him will be some of Kenya's top dance music DJs to keep you on the dancefloor from dusk until dawn, and maybe a bit longer :)
We will be having our event on 14 September this year, a week before the global synchronised Earthdance events. This is due to scheduling issues with artistes and venue. We are gracious to Earthdance Global for letting us have our event 'out of synch' but we hope we can set the tone for all the other events happening around the world the weekend after.
Earthdance Global have an initiative this year called ALL ONE where all Earthdance attendees donate US$ 1 to Earthdance Global to keep the non-profit organisation sustainable. This will be included in the ticket price . As per the usual Earthdance Global rules, AT LEAST 50% of net profits from the event will be given to causes and charities relating to peace, environment and sustainability, and social justice.
Since the Nairobi event's inception in 2009 your efforts on the dance floor have helped us donate to SoulKids, Estel's Children Centre, Nairobi Greenline, Wildlifedirect, Friends of Nairobi National Park and the Hands Off Our Elephants campaign, as well as bring top dance music artists to Nairobi for the first time.
